AlexAndChristine > Another closeup of the "spigot" interface between the porteur rack and the handlebar bag rack. The porteur rack has 3 studs which fit into sleeves on the handlebar bag rack.
AlexAndChristine > A view from the front with both racks mounted. You can see how the headlight works out.
AlexAndChristine > A closeup showing how my light fits. There is just enough room between the handlebar rack and porteur rack for the light.

Normally I'd run the light up near the front of the rack, but I need to put my bike on the bus regularily. The bus rack design doesn't work with anything mounted forward of my fender.
AlexAndChristine > A closeup of the rack/dropout interface. Alistair scupted the racks "dropouts" around the QR spindle, but it is also solidly bolted to the fork. It isn't going anywhere.
AlexAndChristine > The porteur rack is removed (just two bolts) and a handlebar rack remains. It is very quick to install and remove the rack.

One with good eyes might notice that I now have downtube shifters. I need to figure out a good routing for the cables from barend shifters that works with either rack installed. The downtube shifters make things much simpler for now, so I'm going to give them a go.
AlexAndChristine > Mounted, but unloaded.
AlexAndChristine > Side view when loaded. I think that the lines on the rack came out nicely, Alistair did a really nice job.
AlexAndChristine > Another (slightly underexposed) view of the first load.
AlexAndChristine > The first load on the trial run with the new rack. Just a small collection of stuff from the farmers market. The loaded basket probably weighed about 10-15 pounds.

The bike and rack handled perfectly. There was no noise or motion in the rack when loaded or unloaded and it seems very stout.
